Thomas Hendrix

My name is Tom Hendrix. I’m a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and hold a Master's degree in Finance from Elizabethtown College. Additionally, I’m a successful DIY investor, a former customer of fee-only financial planning services, and a lifelong student of personal and behavioral finance.

I served ten years in the Army and then spent ten years working in operations management. My wife worked for 20 years as a resource manager. Through careful planning and disciplined execution, we achieved financial security in our mid-forties, which let us retire from our corporate jobs to pursue careers and a lifestyle that was more flexible, enjoyable, and values-focused.

For us, that meant moving closer to family; staying home with our young son; pursuing volunteer opportunities; and choosing rewarding jobs that let us control our time.
